My work is an ongoing exploration of light reflecting on the physical world through air and water.  The Graphite Drawings focus on the atmospheric states of reflected light that reveal a portal to a new environment with connections to the microscopic-macroscopic.  At times the atmosphere produces a state where images begin to emerge, suggesting organic processes. Water, mineral, flora, animal, all our previous states, what we are part of and where we came from - all are reflected. The Ancestors Series are works linked to the thread of life, the "klosti".

Observation of the rhythmic patterns of light inspired the Pastel Drawings and Digital Prints I began photographing the images on what ever surface the light reflected on. Every moment the wave like dancing images were reborn as individual presences, then vanishing, reminiscent of atomic particles in high energy physics. These presences seemed organic and alive that changed constantly. Their continual movement became a dance. I began thinking of them as "light visitation portraits."

The particles are further explored in the Paintings where creation, annihilation, and rebirth are part of painting process. Layers of paint are applied. creating raised points. Layers of color are then rolled on the surface hiding the original work. The painting is then slowly sanded revealing a new “reborn” image.
